Location: Atlanta, GA
Compensation: $100,000 - $130,000 base salary
Position Summary
The Distribution Planning Manager is responsible for leading labor and budget planning within a high-volume distribution center. This role ensures efficient resource allocation, accurate forecasting, and cost-effective operations through strategic planning and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual facility budget for non-capital expenditures
- Forecast weekly volume projections and align labor and resources accordingly
- Create and maintain staffing models for regular, seasonal, and contract associates
- Monitor facility costs including labor, supplies, and miscellaneous expenses
- Lead a team focused on planning and optimizing product flow through the facility
- Collaborate with operations leadership to support distribution efficiency
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation, or related field and 3+ years of experience in distribution operations
- OR -
7+ years of progressive experience in warehouse/distribution operations - Leadership experience with direct reports
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and data management systems
- Ability to work in a physical distribution environment (lifting up to 25 lbs unassisted)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building a culture of safety
- Project management and process improvement experience
- Strong communication and change management skills
