DSJ Global is currently partnered with a growing manufacturer presenting quite a bit of opportunity in the Greater Los Angeles Area.

The General Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing and service-based organization. Drawing on extensive experience in similar industries, the General Manager will use a broad and current understanding of business practices to drive performance. This role involves setting both short- and long-term goals and ensuring the alignment of all departments toward achieving these objectives. Success in this position depends on the effective allocation of resources, the implementation of clear processes and protocols, and the development of a high-performing leadership team. The General Manager will act as a key liaison between employees and senior leadership, providing strategic direction and support to direct reports. A critical component of the role is the ability to build and nurture a management team capable of overseeing the full lifecycle of production, marketing, and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define organizational goals and approve strategies, policies, and programs to achieve them.

  • Build, lead, and continuously develop a capable management team aligned with the company's vision.

  • Monitor and analyze financial reports, sales data, and operational performance to identify areas for improvement.

  • Allocate resources efficiently, manage budgets, and oversee administrative and personnel planning.

  • Champion a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement across all functions.

  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to support efficient and profitable operations.

  • Enforce company safety and environmental compliance at all levels.

  • Direct all functions related to product manufacturing, supply, sales, marketing, and service.

  • Oversee wholesale and retail sales activities, including dealer and distributor relationships.

  • Conduct or utilize market research to assess customer demand, competitive positioning, and growth opportunities.

  • Represent the company in negotiations, public events, and other official functions when necessary.

  • Ensure protection of intellectual property and confidential business information.

  • Carry out additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, business administration, commerce, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing and/or service-oriented environment.

  • Functional expertise in a specialized area is considered an asset.

  • Strong understanding of sales, finance, and general business operations.

  • Demonstrated success in achieving performance goals.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Sound judgment and decision-making ability, with a focus on cost-benefit analysis.

  • Proficiency in setting clear expectations, delegating tasks, and monitoring team progress.

  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and develop staff while remaining receptive to feedback.

  • Skilled in managing time and priorities to meet business objectives.

  • Comfortable communicating across all organizational levels with professionalism and clarity.

  • Highly organized with a detail-oriented approach to managing complex projects.
