Job Description
A licensed, reliable, and safety-oriented I&E Technician is needed to join an operations team in Deer Park, TX. The Electrical and Instrumentation Technician will be responsible for performing hands-on instrument checks, calibrations, and PLC Ladder Logic troubleshooting, along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting electrical and maintenance departments as needed.

Licensed electrician or, if NCCER-certified, must have sufficient hours to sit for the licensing exam.

Responsibilities:

  • Adhering to all safe work practices, policies, and procedures

  • Troubleshooting instrumentation and control system malfunctions

  • Performing preventative maintenance and calibrations

  • Keeping accurate records and logs

  • Installing new system controls, including power wiring

  • Installing cabling, power distribution systems, and motor control centers

  • Servicing and replacing motors and lighting

  • Performing general electrical maintenance

  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Texas Journeyman Electrician License or sufficient NCCER hours to qualify for exam

  • Experience with PLC Ladder Logic troubleshooting/programming

  • VFD programming experience preferred

  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs

  • Knowledge of DCS systems

  • Experience with systems rated at 480 volts and below

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, stoop, bend, and stand for extended periods

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
