Market Data Services Manager - VP

Position Summary

A leading global financial institution is seeking a Market Data Services Manager (VP level) to lead its market data strategy, vendor management, and compliance initiatives. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in financial data products, licensing, and supplier negotiations. You will play a key role in shaping the firm's global market data strategy, ensuring compliance, and optimizing spend across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of global strategies for market data sourcing, licensing, and compliance.
  • Manage relationships and negotiations with key market data vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P, Moody's).
  • Oversee compliance with licensing agreements and support audits from exchanges and data providers.
  • Analyze and document third-party data usage across systems, applications, and business units.
  • Develop and enforce policies to ensure effective and compliant data consumption.
  • Evaluate and implement tools to monitor and reduce licensing risk and exposure.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including procurement, legal, technology, and business units.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure updates are reflected in systems like COUPA and SPEND.
  • Deliver executive-level briefings and presentations on market data strategy and performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in market data management within financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of financial data products and licensing models.
  • Proven experience managing strategic vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
  • Familiarity with compliance tools and supplier access systems (e.g., DACS, EMRS).
  • Experience with inventory and spend management tools (e.g., SPEND, COUPA).
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and global teams in a matrixed environment.
