Master Planner
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Master Planner to join their manufacturing operations team in Huntersville, NC. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining production plans that balance customer demand, manufacturing capacity, material availability, and inventory objectives. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SAP ECC and a strong understanding of supply chain planning processes within a manufacturing environment.
The Master Planner will collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Procurement, Customer Service, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure optimal production schedules, inventory levels, and service performance while driving continuous improvements across planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage master production schedules to support customer demand and operational objectives.
- Utilize SAP ECC to execute and maintain planning activities across:
- PP (Production Planning)
- MM (Materials Management)
- SD (Sales & Distribution)
- Analyze demand forecasts, customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity to generate accurate supply plans.
- Monitor and adjust production schedules based on changes in demand, material availability, capacity constraints, and business priorities.
- Partner with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to ensure raw materials and components are available to support production requirements.
- Conduct capacity planning analyses to identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to maximize throughput and service levels.
- Manage inventory planning activities to maintain optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess and obsolete stock.
- Track key supply chain and planning metrics, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Support Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes by providing planning insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning accuracy, inventory performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and SAP system utilization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of supply chain, production planning, or materials planning experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience required.
- Hands-on experience with SAP ECC required.
- Experience utilizing SAP modules:
- PP (Production Planning)
- MM (Materials Management)
- SD (Sales & Distribution)
- Strong understanding of:
- Demand Planning
- Supply Planning
- Capacity Planning
- Inventory Management
- Production Scheduling
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting S&OP or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP) preferred.
- Continuous improvement experience within a manufacturing environment.
