Planning Manager - Chemical Manufacturing

A leading advanced materials manufacturer is seeking a Planning Manager to oversee production planning operations at its North Kingstown facility. This role is ideal for a strategic leader with a strong background in manufacturing, inventory management, and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee both short-term and long-range production planning to ensure timely fulfillment of customer needs and delivery targets.
  • Create and maintain master production schedules while fine-tuning SAP/MRP settings to support efficient planning workflows.
  • Implement inventory management strategies and evaluate inventory performance to support business goals.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to synchronize demand forecasts with production capabilities.
  • Lead the execution of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and assess future capacity requirements.
  • Guide and mentor the planning team, setting clear objectives and managing performance to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or related field.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and inventory management.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred:

  • APICS certification
  • SAP experience
  • Project management and Lean Manufacturing experience
