Process Control Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Promote and support a strong HSE culture across plant operations
- Ensure compliance with HSE systems through audits and process control support
- Participate in risk management activities, including PHAs and MOC reviews
- Investigate incidents and support corrective actions
- Maintain and optimize plant control systems and processes
- Support Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting and technical expertise
- Identify and resolve abnormal control issues
- Improve control loops, alarm management, and system performance
- Lead and support process control projects and technology upgrades
- Participate in HAZOP studies and apply project management practices
- Support plant outages, shutdowns, and turnarounds
- Develop capital project justifications and coordinate with contractors
- Create and maintain control system procedures and SOPs
- Assist with reporting and budgeting activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience (5+ years in process controls/electrical systems in an industrial setting)
- At least 3 years of Process Control Engineering experience
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, and Safety Instrumented Systems
- Familiarity with Siemens (Simatic Manager, TIA Portal) or Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix) platforms
- Experience with VFDs (e.g., PowerFlex, Siemens G120, Schneider Altivar)
- Knowledge of Smart MCCs (e.g., SIMOCODE, IntelliCENTER)
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, etc.)
- Strong instrumentation troubleshooting and calibration skills
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 and applicable electrical codes
