Department Overview
The Supply Chain & Procurement function is a dynamic, high‑impact team responsible for sourcing world‑class products and services that support complex hardware, software, and technology solutions. We partner closely with engineering, operations, sales, legal, and senior leadership to create sourcing strategies that maximize value, reduce risk, and enable high‑quality product delivery.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive Procurement Category Manager to own strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, supplier performance, and category strategy development. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in supplier management, strategic procurement, and data‑driven decision‑making.
What You'll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation
- Develop and execute category strategies across assigned spend areas.
- Lead competitive bidding (RFx) processes and negotiate pricing, terms, and commercial agreements.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, from creation and negotiation through renewal.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build strong, long‑term partnerships with key suppliers.
- Conduct business reviews, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cost Reduction & Process Optimization
- Identify and implement cost‑savings opportunities through strategic sourcing, process improvements, and supplier innovation.
- Track KPIs and prepare reporting to highlight value delivered.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, operations, finance, legal, and leadership teams to align sourcing strategies with business requirements.
- Present recommendations confidently to stakeholders at all levels.
Market & Data Analysis
- Analyze procurement data, market trends, and supplier capabilities to support sourcing decisions and budgetary planning.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supplier management.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field (engineering preferred).
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets and proficiency with modern productivity tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
- Strong communication, stakeholder influence, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite in the Greater Chicago Area
- Travel: 10-25%
