Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:
- Complete component manufacturing documentation and obtain customer approvals to qualify as a source for production of specific products. Interface with customer technical personnel to define the most producible and cost-effective component to meet customer requirements.
- Investigate and initiate corrective actions on manufacturing problems arising in the production and inspection/testing of products.
- Establish operating equipment specifications, improve manufacturing techniques, and introduce new process equipment to production. Interface with design personnel to ensure compatibility of processes and designs.
- Review and evaluate engineering changes and/or other specification requirements, performing technical liaison functions with production planning and engineering personnel.
- Recommend alterations to development and design to improve product quality and/or procedures.
- Prepare engineering schematics and parts lists for system components to facilitate manufacturing planning.
- Provide advisory support in the analysis and evaluation of production practices, including work simplification, value analysis, work stations, and methods analysis. Compile and evaluate test and production data, prepare technical analysis, and recommend production methods and processes to meet design objectives for new or improved products/processes. Conduct analysis of method and time standards.
- Lead specific and targeted product and/or process improvement efforts.
- Deliver on commitments in a timely and efficient manner.
Assignments typically include design and development, materials testing, preparation of specifications, process study, report preparation, and other activities requiring knowledge of principles and techniques commonly employed in the specific area of assignments.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Train and develop less experienced technical personnel.
- Observe the company's code of conduct, safety, and quality principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5-7 years of experience or equivalent knowledge.
- Familiarity with a variety of concepts within the field.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Computer literacy, including competency in general MS Office applications, technical computer modeling, and statistical tools.
