Production Engineer - Mechanical

Summary:

DSJ Global is partnered with a leading chemical treatment company in the Louisiana Basin looking to bring in a Mechanical Production Engineer with a background in continuous improvement to help improve yield, minimize waste, and lower downtime in production. This position will work closely with ISO9001 and PSM requirements as well as train staff on technical matters when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and maintain daily production and quality metrics to ensure optimal unit performance and accurate reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, on-stream time, and equipment utilization.
  • Lead safety initiatives including training, behavior-based audits, and fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Develop and review SOPs in compliance with ISO9001 and PSM standards.
  • Ensure equipment reliability to minimize out-of-spec production.
  • Conduct root cause investigations for non-conforming products and customer complaints, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Identify and reduce waste generation through proactive analysis and process improvements.
  • Apply troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques to resolve operational issues swiftly.
  • Partner with Engineering and Maintenance teams to identify and eliminate production bottlenecks.
  • Provide technical training to both salaried and hourly staff.

Preferred Experience:

  • Leadership experience in chemical plant operations.
  • Familiarity with KPIs, Pareto analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools such as 5S and TPM.
  • Understanding of PSM, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Exposure to plant commissioning projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in process engineering or plant operations.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented operations environment.
