Production Manager
The Production Manager provides leadership and supervision across all aspects of production line operations at the highly automated facility. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing output, while managing a team of production employees in a 24/7 operation. The Production Manager plays a key role in driving continuous improvement, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with cross-functional departments to meet business goals and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safety initiatives by promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols and procedures.
- Supervise daily operations of automated and manual equipment, including troubleshooting, process control, and equipment maintenance.
- Monitor and report production performance, identify and resolve issues affecting quality, safety, or efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to production staff, ensuring effective execution of daily tasks and projects.
- Oversee training and development of production line employees to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
- Develop and communicate action plans, priorities, and task lists during scheduled and unscheduled line downtime.
- Implement and maintain 5S standards across assigned areas to promote cleanliness and organization.
- Collaborate with maintenance, shipping, receiving, HR, and operations teams to ensure smooth and efficient plant operations.
- Review and approve timecards, address personnel needs, and support staffing requirements in coordination with HR.
- Promote cost-saving initiatives and encourage continuous improvement ideas from all team members.
- Conduct thorough line inspections to identify and document issues related to safety, quality, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Communicate shift updates and escalate production concerns to incoming supervisors and management.
- Analyze data related to raw materials, equipment, and production processes to support problem-solving and corrective actions.
- Maintain necessary supplies and ensure readiness of production lines.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or 6 months to 1 year of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automated production.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot minor electrical and mechanical issues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook); SAP and AutoCAD experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, draft reports, and communicate effectively with teams and leadership.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills, including basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
