QA Project Lead
About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned Quality Assurance (QA) professional to lead Food Safety and Quality efforts across a series of strategic site development projects. This role is integral to ensuring all activities meet rigorous food safety standards and regulatory requirements. As the primary QA contact, you will be involved from initial design through to final project release, ensuring full compliance and continuous improvement throughout.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the lead QA representative for all site development projects.
- Ensure all project activities comply with internal food safety standards and QA expectations.
- Participate in projects from concept through execution, ensuring quality is embedded at every stage.
- Drive adherence to QA protocols and support project teams in meeting compliance requirements.
- Represent QA in cross-functional project meetings and decision-making processes.
- Provide training on GMP practices and food safety standards to project leaders and contractors.
- Monitor critical project phases to proactively prevent food safety risks.
- Identify and address gaps in compliance, supporting the site in achieving full alignment with industry standards.
- Communicate project status and key QA actions clearly across teams.
- Share learning and best practices with broader QA networks.
Additional Responsibilities
- Build capability to support and back up other QA leads.
- Lead or support root cause analysis for incidents, complaints, and recurring non-conformities.
- Manage the hold & release process, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance.
- Coordinate action plans addressing QMS compliance issues and audit findings.
- Conduct trend analysis on QA KPIs to prioritise improvements and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Champion the quality agenda in meetings and participate in site walk-throughs.
- Coach and support colleagues to foster a strong quality culture and drive business performance.
- Lead specialised quality projects, including equipment upgrades and process changes, ensuring alignment with QMS standards.
- Ensure local compliance with corporate QMS systems and participate in internal and external audits.
- Maintain clear, structured operational documentation and training materials to support effective QA responses.
- Collaborate with the Food Safety team to review hazard control plans, conduct verifications, and communicate updates.
About You
- Master's degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience.
- 5 - 7 years of experience in a Quality role within the food industry.
- Strong project management skills.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Solid knowledge of HACCP and GFSI audit standards.
- Proficient in root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent communicator, team player, and results-oriented professional with high standards.
