Quality Director
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Quality Director to lead our quality assurance and control functions at our metal/steel manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ISO 9001 quality management systems, rolling mill operations, and metallurgical processes. This role is critical in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance, while driving continuous improvement across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams across all production shifts.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Develop and execute quality strategies aligned with business goals and customer requirements.
- Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics; identify trends and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer and third-party audits.
- Manage documentation, calibration, and inspection systems.
- Provide training and mentorship to quality staff and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Drive root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives using tools such as 8D, FMEA, and Six Sigma methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in quality management within the metal or steel manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience with rolling mill operations and understanding of metallurgical processes.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ISO 9001 standards and certification processes.
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., SPC, 8D, FMEA, Six Sigma).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a plus.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with other standards such as ISO9001
