Location: Fresno, CA
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 PM - ~5:30/6:00 AM (Rotating weekend coverage)
A leader in the food manufacturing industry is seeking a Quality Supervisor to join their night shift team in Fresno, CA. This is a pivotal leadership role within the Quality Assurance department, ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in food safety and lab quality who is ready to grow into a Quality Manager role within the next year. The ideal candidate will bring structure, accountability, and cultural transformation to a team in need of strong guidance-particularly during night operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead QA technicians during night shift operations, ensuring compliance with SOPs, GMPs, HACCP/FSMA, and internal quality standards.
- Oversee lab testing procedures including pH testing, chemical/physical verifications, and microbiological sampling.
- Address performance issues and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of quality checks and documentation.
- Conduct root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive actions for quality deviations.
- Support food safety plans, including CCP monitoring and sanitation verification.
- Maintain calibration and functionality of QA and lab equipment.
- Lead internal audits and support external inspections.
- Serve as the primary QA leader on-site during night operations, escalating issues as needed.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Strong background in lab quality, pH testing, and food safety systems.
- Ability to manage the transition from peer to supervisor, especially on night shifts.
- Comfortable addressing team performance and driving cultural change.
- Minimum of 2 years in food manufacturing with QA or lab responsibilities.
- Degree in food science or related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MS Dynamics, RedZone, or Tableau is a plus.
