DSJ Global are after an experienced Business Development Manager(Retail) to join a fast-growing FMCG business!
Retail Key Account Management
- Manage day‑to‑day commercial relationships with major retail customers across grocery, wholesale, and specialty channels.
- Lead annual negotiations, including pricing, promotions, trade terms, and joint business planning.
- Expand product listings and secure visibility-driving initiatives such as secondary placements and in‑store activations.
Business Development & Commercial Growth
- Identify growth opportunities within existing and new retail accounts.
- Develop account plans that deliver revenue, margin, and market share growth.
- Drive category expansion through compelling proposals, promotional cycles, and tailored retailer strategies.
Retail Execution & Activation
- Collaborate with retail operations teams to ensure excellent on-shelf availability, promotional execution, and stock rotation.
- Coordinate POS materials, seasonal campaigns, and retail marketing activities.
- Monitor store-level performance and resolve operational or supply issues quickly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Supply Chain to ensure reliable and cost-efficient delivery to retail partners.
- Partner with Marketing on category insights, activation plans, and consumer-facing initiatives.
- Align with Finance on pricing models, margin analysis, and customer profitability.
Data & Insights
- Analyse sales data, promotional performance, and retailer KPIs to guide decision-making.
- Track competitor activity, category trends, and customer behaviour to inform account strategy.
- Maintain accurate CRM and forecasting information.
Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years of retail B2B sales or key account management, ideally in FMCG, food, beverage, or consumer goods.
- Strong experience with Dutch retail customers (e.g., grocery, wholesale, specialty or convenience retailers).
- Proven negotiation skills and success managing annual contracts and promotional calendars.
- Analytical mindset with experience using retail data (Nielsen, IRI, or retailer portals).
- Commercially driven, relationship-oriented, and adept at navigating fast-paced environments.
