Senior Commercial Manager

Job Purpose:

The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving business growth, managing key client relationships, and developing strategic commercial initiatives for our client's logistics operations in Dubai, with a view to expanding across the GCC region. This role requires a strong understanding of the logistics and freight forwarding industry, commercial acumen, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve revenue and profitability targets.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Sales

    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in freight forwarding, warehousing, and supply chain solutions.
    • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals.
    • Lead contract negotiations and pricing strategies to ensure profitability.
  • Client Relationship Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and partners.
    • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for strategic accounts.
  • Market Analysis & Strategy

    • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
    • Provide insights and recommendations for regional expansion.
    • Develop go-to-market strategies for new services or markets.
  • Financial & Commercial Oversight

    • Monitor commercial performance and prepare regular reports on sales, margins, and forecasts.
    • Collaborate with finance and operations to ensure accurate costing and pricing models.
    • Drive initiatives to improve revenue, reduce costs, and enhance profitability.
  • Team Leadership & Collaboration

    • Work closely with operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
    • Mentor and support junior commercial staff as the team grows.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a commercial or business development role within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
  • Strong understanding of the UAE and GCC logistics market.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English.
