Senior Production and Utilities Engineer
Overview:
The Senior Production and Utilities Engineer is responsible for ensuring efficient, safe, and reliable operation of production processes and utility systems within a specialty chemical manufacturing facility. This role combines technical expertise with leadership to optimize plant performance, drive continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of production units and utility systems (steam, water, compressed air, refrigeration, etc.).
- Develop and implement process optimization strategies to improve yield, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process and equipment issues.
- Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical utilities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on capital projects, process upgrades, and technology implementation.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to operations staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with strong knowledge of process engineering and utility systems.
- Proven track record in process optimization, energy management, and reliability engineering.
- Familiarity with PSM (Process Safety Management) and environmental regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
