Senior Quality Engineer

A leading, employee-focused manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to support quality assurance initiatives within a complex manufacturing environment. This role plays a key part in driving manufacturing quality improvements, strengthening process reliability, and supporting cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products to customers.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on quality professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting and has a strong background in manufacturing quality, data-driven problem solving, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support quality-focused improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes and product reliability
  • Analyze quality and production data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities
  • Support and participate in complex manufacturing problem-solving efforts
  • Drive containment, corrective, and preventive actions related to internal and customer-reported quality issues
  • Identify and reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) through root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support stop-ship, production holds, and quality dispositions as needed
  • Review engineering documentation, prints, and acceptance criteria to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Collaborate closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and other cross-functional teams
  • Apply advanced quality tools and methodologies to prevent recurrence of quality issues
  • Utilize quality metrics and feedback to influence process and design improvements
  • Mentor and support other quality engineers, promoting best practices and continuous improvement
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging quality technologies
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable quality standards

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in manufacturing quality engineering
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
  • Demonstrated success leading quality improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or similar)
  • Proficiency with structured problem-solving and continuous improvement tools (Six Sigma experience preferred)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel skills, and experience using data visualization tools

Preferred:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Master's degree in Engineering or a related field
