Our client, a leader in sustainable construction materials, is seeking a dedicated Sourcing Specialist to support strategic and operational purchasing activities out of their Buffalo site. This full-time role places you at the center of plant operations, where you will play a key role in executing procurement strategies, coordinating supplier activity, and ensuring optimized cost, quality, and service for essential goods and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement procurement strategies in collaboration with the Procurement Manager, Category Managers, and local plant leadership.
- Coordinate the operational and tactical procurement of local goods and services, ensuring alignment with category strategy, policies, and specifications.
- Develop strong business relationships with plant management to anticipate needs and take proactive action.
- Identify local cost‑saving opportunities and support initiatives that improve efficiency and performance.
- Support and execute RFx processes, supplier evaluations, and contract implementation.
- Track KPIs, savings, and procurement performance in accordance with established templates.
- Assist plant operations with sourcing goods, services, equipment, and spare parts critical to ongoing operations.
- Ensure compliance with global and local procurement policies and standards.
Required Skills:
- Procurement Experience: Minimum 2 years in procurement, sourcing, category management, or supply chain roles.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Strong ability to work in cross‑functional teams and support plant operations
- Technology Skills: SAP experience preferred; strong computer skills (Excel) required.
- Strategic Awareness: Ability to identify cost‑saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Compliance Mindset: Commitment to following procurement processes, safety expectations, and operational protocols.
