Business Development Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to join our client's team, based either in Rotterdam or Amsterdam. The ideal candidate will have a proven sales track record in the logistics industry, with a focus on air and ocean freight forwarding. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and driving revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the air and ocean freight sectors. Develop and implement strategies to attract and secure new clients.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients. Understand their needs and provide tailored logistics solutions to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape. Use insights to inform business development strategies.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline. Track and report on sales activities, ensuring targets are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients. Ensure terms are favorable and align with company objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Networking: Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to promote our services and expand our client base.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the logistics industry, specifically in air and ocean freight forwarding.
  • Strong understanding of global logistics and supply chain management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful business development strategies.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
