Business Development Manager
Location: Shenzhen or Guangzhou, China
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives aimed at acquiring new clients across sea, air, and rail logistics services. Preference is given to candidates with freight forwarding experience who can demonstrate deep industry understanding.
- Build, grow, and actively manage a robust sales pipeline, utilizing prospecting, cold calling, client visits, and lead conversion techniques to generate sustainable revenue growth.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the Business Development team, where applicable, fostering a high-performance, target-driven sales culture that aligns with regional goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations and customer service teams to ensure seamless client onboarding and an exceptional standard of service delivery throughout the customer journey.
- Maintain accurate and timely data in the company's CRM system, track ongoing sales activities, and prepare regular performance and forecasting reports for senior management.
- Serve as an ambassador of the company by attending and representing the brand at key industry forums, trade shows, networking functions, and client-facing events to enhance visibility and build meaningful relationships.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in freight forwarding or logistics sales, with a track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
- In-depth knowledge of the South China logistics market, including regional trends, customer expectations, and competitor landscape.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to develop lasting client partnerships and influence key stakeholders.
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English-spoken and written-is essential for daily communication and business development activities.
- Willingness to travel regularly across the South China region to engage clients, conduct meetings, and drive business development initiatives.
