About the Role
DSJ Global is partnering with a leading global logistics provider to identify a highly driven Business Development Manager to spearhead commercial growth across Northern Italy. This role is ideal for a proactive, market‑driven sales professional with a strong background in freight forwarding, especially within Air & Ocean, and a proven ability to win new business.
As part of a dynamic, solutions‑oriented commercial team, you will be responsible for expanding the company's footprint in a competitive region, engaging directly with mid‑market and enterprise customers, identifying new revenue opportunities, and shaping strategic account acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business acquisition across the Northern Italian region, targeting key verticals such as industrials, automotive, fashion, chemicals, and technology.
- Proactively identify, qualify, and convert commercial opportunities in the freight forwarding market.
- Develop and execute regional sales strategies to increase market share in Air, Ocean, and integrated logistics solutions.
- Conduct high-quality client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to close profitable opportunities.
- Build strong internal relationships with operational, pricing, and product teams to construct tailored logistics solutions.
- Maintain a strong, consistent pipeline through disciplined use of CRM tools and structured sales methodology.
- Stay informed about market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to position the company competitively.
- Represent the brand at industry events, clients visits, and customer engagements across the region.
Candidate Profile
- Proven hunter mentality with a track record of winning new business in the freight forwarding sector.
- 3-7+ years of experience in sales, business development, or commercial roles within a freight forwarding environment.
- Strong understanding of Air and Ocean freight solutions; experience with road transport or contract logistics is a plus.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Native or fluent Italian, and professional English proficiency.
- Self‑driven, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously in the field.
- Based in Northern Italy (Milan, Bergamo, Brescia, Turin, Verona, or surrounding areas).
