A leading manufacturer is looking for a Buyer that will be responsible purchasing all direct and indirect materials. This role will focus on developing and evaluating supplier relationships, analyzing trends in the industry, and negotiate contracts. This person will maintain purchase orders for supplies, materials, and office supplies/equipment. The Buyer will be responsible for:
- Purchases and expedites delivery of raw materials, equipment, supplies, spare parts, and
services - Negotiates contracts and/or purchase agreements
- Builds and manages vendor relationships
- Provide back-up support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling
- Prepares and analyzes RFQ's
- Manage and resolve issues regarding PO to invoice discrepancies
The Buyer should have the Following Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED REQUIRED, Bachelor's Degree PREFERRED
- 3+ years of purchasing and buying experience
- Comfortable in Microsoft Office
- Flexible, adaptable, and organized; can handle numerous tasks simultaneously
- Commercial negotiation skills.
This is a full time, permanent position based outside of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Location: Baton Rouge, LA
Salary: $100,000 - $110,000
