Position Summary:

Our Client is seeking a results-driven Commodity Manager to lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management of electronic components for our aerospace manufacturing operations in Seminole, Oklahoma. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, quality, and cost-effectiveness of electronic commodities such as PCBs, semiconductors, connectors, sensors, and embedded systems. The ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach to supplier development and risk mitigation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Commodity Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and implement commodity strategies for electronics aligned with company goals and aerospace industry standards.
    • Conduct market intelligence and supplier benchmarking to identify sourcing opportunities and trends.
    • Lead RFQ/RFP processes, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Supplier Relationship Management

    • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers to ensure performance, quality, and delivery.
    • Monitor supplier KPIs and lead corrective action plans when necessary.
    • Drive supplier innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management teams to support product development and lifecycle management.
    • Ensure electronic components meet technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and program timelines.
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation

    • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulations including AS9100, ITAR, and DFARS.
    • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply continuity, obsolescence, and geopolitical factors.
  • Cost Management & Optimization

    • Lead cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, should-cost analysis, and strategic negotiations.
    • Analyze total cost of ownership and implement cost-effective sourcing solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in commodity management or strategic sourcing, with a focus on electronics in aerospace or high-tech manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of electronic components and aerospace compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and procurement analytics tools.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with global sourcing and supplier development.
  • Technical knowledge of electronics manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, or PMP.
