A global leader in specialty chemicals is seeking a Director of Electronic Solder Materials to lead strategy, portfolio management, and commercial performance for a high-growth product line serving the electronics manufacturing industry.

The organization develops advanced materials and process technologies that support critical applications across semiconductor packaging, circuit board fabrication, electronics assembly, advanced joining materials, and specialty electronic materials. Its solutions are trusted by leading manufacturers in industries including automotive, consumer electronics, telecommunications, data infrastructure, AI, and industrial electronics.

This leadership role offers the opportunity to influence portfolio strategy, drive innovation initiatives, and partner with global commercial, engineering, and operations teams to accelerate growth and profitability.

Position Overview:

The Director, Electronic Solder Materials is responsible for defining and executing the global strategy for the product portfolio, ensuring achievement of revenue, profitability, and market share objectives. This individual will lead cross-functional initiatives spanning product management, commercialization, technology roadmaps, supply chain alignment, and new product development.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in electronics materials, soldering technologies, advanced manufacturing materials, or related industrial markets, along with strong commercial and strategic leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Portfolio Leadership

  • Define and execute the global vision and strategic roadmap for the product portfolio.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable growth plans and initiatives.
  • Lead product lifecycle management, pricing strategy, and SKU rationalization.
  • Identify portfolio expansion opportunities in existing and adjacent markets.
  • Develop customer segmentation and commercialization strategies.

Financial & Commercial Performance

  • Own global revenue, margin, and volume performance for the product line.
  • Partner with regional commercial teams to drive growth and profitability.
  • Support forecasting and demand planning processes.
  • Monitor business performance and deliver regular leadership updates.
  • Contribute to annual planning, budgeting, and market assessment activities.

Market Positioning & Customer Value

  • Develop compelling value propositions aligned with customer requirements.
  • Partner with sales and marketing teams to create impactful commercial tools.
  • Ensure consistent product messaging and positioning across global markets.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitive dynamics and market trends.

Technology & Innovation

  • Lead technology roadmap development and execution.
  • Identify innovation gaps and future growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams to prioritize strategic projects.
  • Build business cases for new product initiatives and investments.
  • Oversee commercialization and validation of new products.

Operations & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with supply chain and operations teams to optimize profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure commercialization readiness across new and existing products.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and performance optimization.
  • Utilize data-driven decision making and root cause analysis to address business challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in product management, commercial leadership, advanced materials, electronics manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Proven success leading global product portfolios and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing revenue and profitability objectives.
  • Experience with S&OP/SIOP processes, technology roadmapping, and commercialization strategies is preferred.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and executive leadership functions.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base salary range: $145,789 - $218,683
  • Performance-based annual bonus opportunity
    • Target Bonus: 15% (entirely performance based)
