Product Manager, Bacon

Salary: $115k - $135k + bonus

Company Summary: A privately held food manufacturer specializing in fresh and processed protein products, supplying retail, foodservice, and private-label customers across North America.

The Product Manager will be responsible for:

  • Own the strategic leadership, growth, profitability, and long-term category strategy for the bacon portfolio.
  • Develop and execute pricing, assortment, inventory, and margin optimization strategies to achieve annual profit and revenue objectives.
  • Partner with Sales, FP&A, Operations, and Planning teams to align forecasting, inventory management, production planning, and commercial execution.
  • Serve as the primary category expert, providing market insights, product guidance, pricing recommendations, and sales strategies to drive business growth.
  • Lead product performance analysis, break-even modeling, customer reviews, and data-driven decision making to maximize category profitability.
  • Negotiate and support customer pricing, trade agreements, RFPs, and assortment expansion initiatives in partnership with commercial leadership.
  • Monitor supply-demand balance, service levels, product specifications, and operational performance while building cross-functional processes that improve efficiency and category results.

The Product Manager should have the following qualifications:

  • Must have 5+ years of direct experience in bacon, pork, meat processing, or broader protein manufacturing industry, with deep category expertise
  • Proven product management, category management, or business unit leadership experience with ownership of category growth and profitability.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility, including pricing strategy, margin management, inventory optimization, and revenue growth
  • Strong analytical capabilities with experience leveraging syndicated market data (IRI, Nielsen, Circana, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree required
