EHS Engineer
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Engineer plays a key role in developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This position is responsible for identifying potential risks, recommending improvements, and delivering training to foster a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Maintain and manage required permits, documentation, and compliance records.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and comprehensive risk assessments.
- Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and environmental events to determine root causes and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead efforts to modify or upgrade equipment to meet safety standards and enhance operational safety.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams to integrate safety into equipment design and facility layout changes.
- Deliver training programs for employees and leadership on safety procedures, emergency preparedness, and regulatory compliance.
- Design, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures tailored to organizational needs.
- Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, and environmental impact reduction initiatives.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret EHS performance metrics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
