EHS Specialist
Are you an experienced EHS professional with a passion for safety and compliance in a highly regulated environment?
What You'll Do:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits across the facility to identify potential hazards, recommend corrective actions, and ensure continuous improvement.
- Lead and facilitate training sessions on topics such as hazardous materials handling, emergency response, PPE usage, and safe work practices to promote a strong safety culture.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce future risk.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, quality, and engineering to integrate EHS best practices into daily processes and project planning.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for internal tracking and external regulatory compliance, including permits, inspections, and safety metrics.
What You Bring:
- A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of EHS experience, ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotech, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Certifications such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM are a plus and demonstrate a commitment to professional development.
