Design Engineer - Custom Consumable

We're working with a global leader in bioprocessing solutions to recruit a talented Custom Consumable Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative team driving the development of single-use technologies that support life-saving therapies worldwide.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for designing and developing custom single-use assemblies for critical Final Fill applications in bioprocessing. From concept through to release, you'll manage projects that directly impact pharmaceutical manufacturing efficiency and quality.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design & Innovate: Develop single-use consumables, including components, packaging, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Ensure Quality: Maintain documentation (testing protocols, risk analyses, design files) within a robust QMS framework.
  • Drive Projects: Own timelines, communicate progress, and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Continuous Improvement: Apply engineering creativity to enhance processes and product outcomes.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Plastics, Bio, or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Experience: 2+ years in mechanical engineering, biotech, or related fields.
  • Technical Skills:
    • CAD solid modeling (SolidWorks, CREO)
    • Strong documentation and compliance knowledge
    • Familiarity with GMP and regulatory standards
  • Soft Skills: Collaborative mindset and ability to meet customer requirements effectively.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 15% (within Europe and internationally)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Comfortable lifting up to 25 lbs

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in relevant engineering discipline
  • 4+ years in Final Fill bioprocessing
  • Experience with single-use assemblies for monoclonal antibody manufacturing
