Engineering Manager
DSJ Global is currently partnered with an industry leading bulk Plastics Manufacturer based in Lynchburg, VA who is looking to add on a new Assistant Engineering Manager to their team. The Assistant Engineering Manager will work closely with Project Engineers and upper management team to act as an onsite extension of the current Engineering Manager who works remotely. This role is designed as a succession position and will have a clear pathway to transition into the Engineering Manager positions.
The Assistant Engineering Manager will be responsible for:
- Serve as the on-site liaison for the remote Engineering Manager
- Support and coordinate daily manufacturing engineering activities
- Troubleshoot technical and process issues on the production floor
- Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes, methods, and documentation
- Partner with quality, production, design engineering, and maintenance teams
- Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
- Assist in implementing new equipment, technology, and process validations
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, AS9100 standards
- Prepare to transition into full Engineering Manager responsibilities in the future
The Assistant Engineering Manager should have:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (mechanical, plastics) or related technical field required.
- 3-5 years of experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing
- Knowledge of mold design, tooling, process optimization, and quality systems
- Leadership potential or previous supervisory experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485, AS9100 standards is a plus.
