Environmental Affairs Manager
Location: Glen Rock, PA
Salary: $105,000 - $135,000
A leading manufacturer of high‑performance adhesive technologies is seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) professional to lead and oversee all activities related to regulatory compliance, workplace safety, and environmental stewardship across their facilities. This role requires deep knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and the ability to proactively identify risks, develop preventive strategies, and ensure the well-being of both associates and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, DEP, DOT and related federal, state, and local regulations governing air and water quality, waste management, hazardous materials, and chemical handling.
- Develop and implement strategies to meet regulatory requirements and maintain a safe, compliant workplace.
- Oversee and ensure completion of all mandated regulatory training for employees.
- Prepare and maintain documentation required for environmental, health and safety permits and compliance.
- Participate in internal and external EHS audits and inspections and recommend corrective and preventative actions in response
- Maintain and update the Integrated Preparedness, Prevention & Contingency Plan.
- Lead the Environmental Safety Committee and serve as a permanent member of the Corporate Safety Committee.
- Evaluate all new chemicals, materials, and processes to ensure hazards are identified and mitigated before implementation.
- Maintain and update the MSDSonline database with current safety data sheets.
- Respond to customer inquiries related to product safety information, including SDSs, article letters, RoHS/REACH certifications, and other compliance documentation.
- Review and approve Process Hazard Analyses and Product Design Reviews for new products and parts.
- Manage hazardous and residual waste disposal programs.
- Complete annual compliance reporting including Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Tier II, and Air Emission Inventory submissions.
- Conduct regular facility walkthroughs to evaluate EHS risks, ensure compliance, and engage associates on safety practices.
- Analyze potential worker safety risks and implement appropriate controls.
- Investigate incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Track key EHS metrics, communicate progress, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or at least 5 years of experience in Environmental Science, Safety Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related EHS functions.
- Working knowledge of EHS management systems such as ISO standards, OSHA requirements, and GHS classifications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across diverse teams.
- Strong capability to develop systems supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives.
- Able to manage high-pressure emergency situations effectively.
- Proficiency in standard desktop software applications.
- Availability for on-call responsibilities as needed.
