Our client is a global data‑center developer and operator undergoing significant international expansion. The organization is building a modern portfolio of multi‑megawatt data‑center facilities across key markets worldwide and is establishing new operational hubs to support its growing footprint.
The company serves a diverse customer base spanning enterprise, cloud, and hyperscale segments, with a strong commitment to delivering high‑availability, carrier‑neutral, high‑density environments. As the platform scales, they are seeking a senior operations leader to drive standardization, operational excellence, and readiness as new sites come online across multiple regions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Mission‑Critical Equipment Procurement
- Lead global sourcing strategies for long‑lead, mission‑critical data center equipment, including:
- Generators
- Transformers
- Chillers
- UPS systems
- Switchgear & electrical distribution systems
- Other hyperscale‑grade mechanical & electrical infrastructure
- Develop and manage global supplier relationships to secure capacity, ensure quality, and maintain competitive commercial positioning.
- Oversee forecasting, demand planning, and long‑lead equipment pipeline management.
2. Construction Procurement (Greenfield & Expansion Projects)
- Drive procurement strategy for large‑scale greenfield and expansion data center builds.
- Lead bid package design, contractor sourcing, tender management, and commercial evaluations.
- Negotiate major construction contracts, frame agreements, and regional/global master service agreements.
- Partner closely with regional construction leaders to ensure alignment on timelines, scope, and delivery.
3. Contracting, Negotiation & Governance
- Oversee full contract lifecycle management (CLM) including:
- RFP / RFQ
- Bid evaluation
- Contract drafting & execution
- Variations and change‑order management
- Supplier performance governance
- Ensure compliance with global procurement standards, risk frameworks, and commercial approval processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transparency, cost efficiency, and supplier accountability.
4. Cross‑Functional Global Leadership
- Partner with Global Engineering, Design, Construction, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Executive Procurement leadership teams.
- Align global procurement strategies with long‑term business objectives, capacity planning, and campus roll‑out roadmaps.
- Influence stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones to enable consistent global procurement execution.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a strategic yet hands‑on procurement executive with proven success in data center or mission‑critical infrastructure environments.
Required Experience
- Extensive experience leading global procurement or supply chain for large‑scale data center programs.
- Demonstrated track record in mission‑critical MEP equipment procurement.
- Strong background in construction contracting for high‑value, high‑complexity projects.
- Expertise in commercial negotiation, supplier strategy, and risk mitigation.
- Global or multi‑regional leadership exposure, ideally across APAC, EMEA, or North America.
