About the Role
The Refinery Technology Lead will spearhead and support efficiency improvements across multiple refinery operations. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in process engineering for sweetener refining, process development and optimization, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Global Refinery Leadership: Lead a process improvement team of approximately 25 engineers and refinery managers within a matrix organization.
- Benchmark refinery performance internally and externally, and develop actionable plans to enhance cost-effectiveness.
- Implement best practices focused on safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Drive cost optimization through process improvements and capital projects, including feasibility studies and financial analysis for major investments.
- Collaborate with global operations teams to identify, test, and integrate new technologies and process ingredients.
- Deliver technical training for refinery engineers through team meetings and specialized programs.
- Partner with procurement to develop sourcing strategies for chemicals and ingredients.
- Travel approximately 30%, primarily within the U.S.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, with at least five years of industrial experience in corn sweetener refining or a related field.
- Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience, preferably in a matrix organization, with a history of achieving key performance targets.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within diverse teams, serving as both a contributor and leader.
- Excellent communication and listening skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Customer-focused mindset for internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
