IT Procurement Category Manager
We're supporting one of our clients in the Advanced Communications space on their search for an IT Procurement Category Manager. In this role, you'll lead sourcing initiatives primarily within software, negotiate impactful agreements, and oversee relationships with high‑value suppliers. The ideal candidate is highly collaborative, able to influence decision‑making, and deeply familiar with the full procurement lifecycle.
What You'll Do
Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation
- Create and execute sourcing strategies for assigned categories, including leading RFx events.
- Negotiate terms that optimize cost, quality, service levels, and risk.
- Manage the complete contract lifecycle, from design through execution.
Supplier Relationship Management
- Cultivate productive, long‑term relationships with key suppliers.
- Conduct regular business reviews to ensure performance expectations are met.
- Drive ongoing improvements in supplier capabilities and outcomes.
Cost Optimization & Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
- Recommend and implement process improvements and procurement best practices.
- Track and report KPIs to quantify performance and value delivered.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with teams across the organization to understand needs and align sourcing strategies.
- Present recommendations clearly and persuasively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ensure procurement decisions support broader business objectives.
Contract Oversight
- Oversee all stages of contract development, renewal, and closeout.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements.
Budgeting & Financial Analysis
- Develop and manage category budgets and forecasts.
- Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities and efficiency gains.
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of software procurement experience, including sourcing, negotiating, and managing software suppliers.
- Proven background in procurement with an emphasis on strategic sourcing and category management.
- Strong negotiation and contract management capabilities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Experience working with modern procurement tools and platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet fast‑paced deadlines.
- Demonstrated success collaborating with diverse stakeholders across all organizational levels.
- Strong analytical skills and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
