Schedule: Monday-Friday | Day Shift
Compensation: $60,000-$92,000 + potential profit sharing

About the Role
This position supports a large‑scale manufacturing operation that produces packaging and tissue products made primarily from recycled fibres, similar to the broader North American packaging and containerboard industry.
The Maintenance Planner plays a critical role in maximizing equipment reliability, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring safe, efficient production in an environment that includes paper‑based packaging equipment, converting lines, and tissue/packaging production systems.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
- Develop, prioritize, and schedule preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to support production needs in a packaging/tissue manufacturing environment.
- Create detailed job plans including labor requirements, parts, tools, lockout procedures, drawings, and documentation.
- Build weekly maintenance schedules balancing workforce availability, production windows, and backlog management.
Equipment & Reliability Support
- Support maintenance teams working with equipment such as containerboard machinery, corrugated equipment, converting systems, molded pulp equipment, and tissue production lines, consistent with industry operations.
- Review equipment history and performance trends to improve PM programs and reduce recurring failures.
- Assist with root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions to enhance equipment uptime.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with maintenance supervisors, technicians, production, and engineering to align maintenance activities with operational priorities.
- Provide PLC‑related context to teams, supporting troubleshooting planning when necessary.
- Communicate upcoming maintenance plans, schedule adjustments, and job status to all stakeholders.
Inventory & CMMS Management
- Ensure accurate CMMS data entry across work orders, parts usage, labor hours, and equipment records.
- Collaborate with inventory and storeroom personnel to maintain critical spare‑parts stock.
- Support audits, compliance requirements, and documentation tied to safety and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (packaging, tissue, paper, converting, or similar).
- Working knowledge of maintenance workflows, PM/CBM processes, and CMMS systems.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, schematics, and work packages.
- Strong planning, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience supporting equipment with PLC controls.
- Understanding of packaging, containerboard, tissue, or recycled‑fiber manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with reliability practices (TPM, RCM, CBM).
- Background in maintenance trades, mechanical/electrical systems, or industrial engineering.
Work Environment
- Monday-Friday, day shift, typically starting at 6:30 AM.
- On‑site role inside an active packaging/tissue production facility.
- Collaborative, fast‑paced environment working with production, engineering, and maintenance.
