Material Handler

Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This role involves operating material handling equipment, supporting inventory processes, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute material transfers in accordance with established safety protocols and workflow standards.
  • Organize and store inventory as directed by Warehouse, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams.
  • Receive and unload incoming shipments at designated receiving areas.
  • Accurately perform inventory transactions using scanning devices and warehouse management systems.
  • Label, package, count, and identify incoming goods.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free warehouse environment.
  • Pick and stage materials for production or shipment.
  • Load and unload materials from racks, trucks, and other transport systems.
  • Conduct put-away tasks and assist with inventory control activities.
  • Perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Adapt to new tasks and processes as directed by leadership.
  • Operate all warehouse equipment proficiently and safely.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and maintenance checklists.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisors.


Qualifications & Skills:

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience using SAP is required.
  • Proven experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
  • Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or aerospace is preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education is a plus.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Language Requirements:

  • Must be fluent in English (spoken and written).


Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and transport up to 50 pounds using proper techniques and equipment.
  • Capable of standing and walking for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts).
  • Must have corrected vision of 20/30 or better.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in elevated areas.
  • May be exposed to strong odors or hazardous substances; use of PPE such as latex gloves may be required.
  • Must be able to work in noisy environments with hearing protection.
  • Frequent bending, overhead work, and physical exertion required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours to support 24/7 operations, including weekends and holidays.
