Mechanical Engineer I
Overview
The Mechanical Engineer I supports the design, development, and improvement of industrial equipment and mechanical systems. This role is ideal for an early‑career engineer who is eager to apply fundamental engineering principles, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and gain hands‑on experience with manufacturing processes, product testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and modification of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, Auto CAD).
- Perform basic engineering analyses, including tolerance studies, material selection, stress calculations, and thermal evaluations.
- Support prototype development, including assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of results.
- Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to address production challenges and optimize product manufacturability.
- Participate in root‑cause analysis and corrective action projects to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Assist in compliance assessments to ensure designs meet relevant safety, regulatory, and performance standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to product design, workflow efficiency, and cost reduction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Foundational knowledge of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software and engineering documentation practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively in a team environment.
