Operations Manager (M/F/D)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Management: Oversee end-to-end freight forwarding operations, including air, sea, and road freight.

  • Process Optimisation: Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with international and local freight forwarding laws, customs regulations, and company policies.

  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop the operations team to achieve performance targets and operational excellence.

  • Customer Service: Work closely with clients to understand their logistics needs and ensure timely, cost-effective solutions.

  • Vendor & Carrier Management: Establish and maintain relationships with carriers, suppliers, and other logistics partners.

  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and generate reports to assess operational efficiency and service levels.

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve operational challenges, including shipment delays, customs issues, and client concerns.

  • Technology Utilisation: Leverage logistics software and digital tools to streamline operations and enhance tracking capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in an operational leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, customs regulations, and freight transportation modes (air, sea, road).

  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Fluency in English and German is required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
