Operations Superintendent

Job Summary:
The Operations Superintendent is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within a chemical manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant operations. This role leads frontline supervisors and production teams, drives process optimization, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to meet production goals and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate plant operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Lead and mentor shift supervisors and production staff.
  • Monitor process performance and implement improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and quality teams to resolve operational issues.
  • Support training programs and workforce development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report key performance indicators (KPIs).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing operations, with 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of chemical processing, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
