Plant Engineer
Summary:
This role is responsible for leading maintenance operations and ensuring maximum equipment reliability, safety, and performance in a manufacturing environment. The position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to drive a culture of operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all environmental and safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain a reliability-centered maintenance strategy to improve uptime, OEE, and reduce costs.
- Oversee maintenance team performance, ensuring high standards of plant condition and equipment reliability.
- Identify skill gaps and support technical training and development for team members.
- Manage capital projects, departmental budgets, and drive technical improvements.
- Use root cause analysis tools (e.g., FMEA, 5 Whys) to resolve and prevent equipment failures.
- Collaborate with plant leadership to drive continuous improvement and meet operational goals.
- Support TPM and other continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years leading a plant maintenance department or 5+ years in a supervisory manufacturing role.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety compliance.
- Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
- Proficient in root cause analysis and reliability tools.
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and predictive maintenance systems.
- Experience managing maintenance costs and optimizing operations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.
- Experience with TPM or reliability-focused programs preferred.
