Plant Engineering Manager

My Client is

seeking a hands-on, experienced Plant Manager to lead and optimize daily production operations across two manufacturing floors. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a strong background in chemical manufacturing, lean practices, and team development. The Plant Manager will work closely with supervisors and frontline leaders to drive operational excellence, instill accountability, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily production activities across both production floors.
  • Provide hands-on coaching and development to supervisors and frontline leaders.
  • Drive operational discipline and ensure adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Monitor and improve key performance metrics (e.g., batch cycle time, downtime, throughput).
  • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, supply chain, and leadership teams.
  • Build and develop a high-performing, metrics-driven production team.
  • Diagnose operational inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Plant Manager or Production Manager in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong hands-on production background with a track record of leading small production teams.
  • Demonstrated success in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage and coach teams on the production floor.
  • Experience working in metrics-driven environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
  • Background in plastics or pharmaceutical manufacturing is acceptable.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and how to optimize them.
