Plant Manager
Job Summary:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production, maintenance, safety, and quality within a wire and cable manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient operations, high product quality, and compliance with industry standards while leading cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily plant operations including production scheduling, workforce planning, and equipment utilization.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards (e.g., ISO, UL).
- Lead and develop plant staff, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement strategies to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve operational issues and support new product introductions.
- Oversee maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Manage budgets, cost controls, and capital projects to support operational goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 7-10+ years of experience in plant or operations management within wire, cable, or related manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to operations.
- Knowledge of extrusion, stranding, insulation, and other wire/cable production processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
