Procurement Contracts Manager
Position Overview
A leading construction organization is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Contract Manager to lead the development, negotiation, and management of supplier and subcontractor contracts. This role is critical in ensuring cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance across all procurement activities while supporting the successful delivery of construction projects.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of construction procurement, contract law, and supplier relationship management, with the ability to partner closely with project teams, finance, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and administer contracts with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
- Ensure all agreements align with project requirements, company standards, and regulatory guidelines
- Manage the full contract lifecycle from pre-award through execution, amendments, and closeout
- Identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks
Procurement Strategy & Execution
- Support sourcing strategies for construction materials, equipment, and services
- Lead competitive bidding processes (RFPs, RFQs, tenders) to ensure best value
- Analyze supplier proposals and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions
- Drive cost savings initiatives and value engineering opportunities
Supplier & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and finance teams to align procurement with project timelines and budgets
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related matters
Risk, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements
- Monitor supplier performance and enforce contractual obligations
- Support dispute resolution and claims management
- Maintain accurate contract documentation and audit readiness
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track procurement KPIs, contract performance, and cost savings metrics
- Provide regular reporting to leadership on contract status and risk exposure
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance procurement efficiency
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5-8+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, or sourcing within construction or a related industry
- Proven experience managing subcontractor and supplier agreements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills
- Knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., AIA, subcontract agreements)
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices and cost analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore, or similar)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CCM)
- Familiarity with commercial construction, general contracting, or design-build environments
