Procurement Contracts Manager
Position Overview
A leading construction organization is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Contract Manager to lead the development, negotiation, and management of supplier and subcontractor contracts. This role is critical in ensuring cost efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance across all procurement activities while supporting the successful delivery of construction projects.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of construction procurement, contract law, and supplier relationship management, with the ability to partner closely with project teams, finance, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of owner agreements, subcontractor agreements, change orders, amendments, and other project-related contracts.
- Review, negotiate, and administer contract terms to ensure alignment with company objectives while minimizing commercial and contractual risk.
- Partner with project management and operations teams to support contract compliance, project execution, and issue resolution.
- Evaluate scopes of work, contract language, insurance requirements, indemnification provisions, payment terms, and risk allocation clauses.
- Monitor contractual obligations, deliverables, notices, and key milestones throughout project execution.
- Support claims management, dispute resolutions, and change order negotiations as project needs arise.
- Maintain accurate contract records and documentation while ensuring compliance with internal policies and project requirements.
- Collaborate with legal counsel and leadership on complex contractual matters and strategic business initiatives.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Construction Management, or a related field
- 5-8+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, or sourcing within construction or a related industry
- Proven experience managing subcontractor and supplier agreements
Skills & Competencies
- Strong negotiation and contract drafting skills
- Knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., AIA, subcontract agreements)
- Solid understanding of procurement best practices and cost analysis
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Procore, or similar)
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CCM)
- Familiarity with commercial construction, general contracting, or design-build environments
