The Production Manager is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing operations within a high-volume production environment. This role partners closely with site leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while driving continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure operational objectives are achieved safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Oversee manufacturing operations with accountability for safety performance, quality standards, housekeeping, maintenance coordination, and production output.
  • Champion a strong safety culture through planning, training, compliance, and proactive risk management.
  • Translate customer and business requirements into operational plans that improve service levels and product consistency.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, waste reduction, quality, and cost control.
  • Manage operational financial performance, including manufacturing costs, operating efficiency, and budget adherence.
  • Monitor material usage and waste streams to reduce cost and environmental impact.
  • Establish clear communication channels across production, maintenance, and leadership teams to ensure alignment and execution.
  • Develop, coach, and evaluate supervisors and frontline leaders, supporting succession planning and talent growth.
  • Act as a change leader, deploying lean manufacturing principles and driving execution in a fast-paced production environment.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in complex manufacturing environments, including packaging or converting operations (required).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with a working understanding of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with production planning and scheduling systems.
  • Proven ability to lead in a high-output, just-in-time manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in process optimization and operational execution.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Experience managing operating budgets, capital projects, and financial performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across organizational levels.
  • Adaptable, results-oriented leader capable of responding effectively to changing priorities and operational demands.
