Role Overview

The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations by guiding team members to efficiently produce and ship goods that meet established output goals, quality expectations, and delivery commitments. This position focuses on optimizing performance, controlling costs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Aligning and communicating daily production targets, shipment priorities, and operational objectives across teams.
  • Supporting workforce performance by setting clear expectations, delivering training and coaching, ensuring access to necessary equipment and materials, and reinforcing accountability.
  • Evaluating daily output and efficiency metrics, recognizing performance shortfalls, and taking prompt corrective action while maintaining clear communication with impacted groups.
  • Encouraging team participation in process enhancements and operational improvement efforts.
  • Working cross-functionally with maintenance, quality assurance, and sanitation personnel to sustain equipment reliability and maximize production flow.
  • Promoting proactive problem-solving and responsiveness to minimize downtime and maintain momentum during production.
  • Uphold workplace safety by ensuring policies and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with PPE usage, Good Manufacturing Practices, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure all products consistently meet defined safety and quality specifications.
  • Assist team members in reaching productivity and quality benchmarks efficiently.
  • Provide direction, coaching, and ongoing support to maintain high standards in performance, cleanliness, and compliance.
  • Analyze production challenges to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions, including addressing team-related issues when needed.
  • Oversee timekeeping, attendance tracking, and staffing coverage to support uninterrupted operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or team lead capacity, or equivalent training.
  • Background in a manufacturing or production setting, with exposure to process improvement concepts such as lean practices or data-driven decision-making.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Several years of experience leading teams in a manufacturing or operations environment.
