Project Manager
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Project Manager to oversee customer projects from initial sale through final contract closeout. This role involves coordinating with internal departments and providing exceptional support to external clients. The ideal candidate will ensure the successful production and delivery of bridge products in alignment with our corporate mission, guiding principles, and financial goals.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, drafting, and production teams to establish and manage project timelines.
- Review and validate contracts, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure compliance with legal and financial requirements.
- Analyze project specifications to confirm alignment with bid documents and scope.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and update internal systems accordingly.
- Respond to internal and external requests for project-related information.
- Coordinate with the credit department to resolve any issues that could impact delivery schedules.
- Evaluate project reports and identify discrepancies or areas for improvement.
- Draft and process change orders based on verified project changes or customer requests.
- Monitor outstanding payments and follow up with customers as needed.
- Ensure final project documentation, including drawings and calculations, is complete and submitted.
- Manage back charge processes and collaborate with relevant departments to resolve claims.
- Investigate and document project-related issues, providing detailed reports for management review.
- Track and update all project changes, claims, and financial adjustments in internal systems.
- Attend job site meetings and work closely with clients to minimize potential cost overruns.
- Support the accounting team with project-related financial inquiries.
- Prepare professional reports and correspondence for both internal stakeholders and clients.
- Take on additional tasks as assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the steel fabrication industry.
- Familiarity with AISC, AWS, ASTM, and OSHA standards.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Effective problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation abilities.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
