About the Opportunity

A long‑standing leader in the design and production of large-scale marine propulsion components is seeking a Quality Inspector to support manufacturing operations across foundry, machining, and finishing environments. This facility produces highly engineered propellers and propulsion hardware used in critical U.S. maritime applications, making precision, documentation, and quality compliance essential.

In this hands‑on role, you will perform dimensional inspections, NDT evaluations, and quality audits to ensure components meet strict technical standards. Your work directly contributes to the performance and reliability of propulsion systems installed on mission‑critical vessels.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections and determine component acceptability against engineering standards.
  • Conduct NDT inspections, including Visual Testing (VT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (LPT).
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering with inspection documentation and quality reporting.
  • Lay out and verify large fixed‑pitch propellers using pitchometer equipment.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records, calibration logs, and quality documentation.
  • Report inspection findings and nonconformities to Quality leadership.
  • Perform receiving inspections on incoming materials and purchased goods.
  • Create, issue, and close Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
  • Perform in‑process audits within machining, finishing, and foundry departments.
  • Follow all safety rules and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Execute additional quality duties as assigned.

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years experience in manufacturing or inspection.
  • Hands-on proficiency with measuring tools and test equipment.
  • Strong documentation and computer skills (Microsoft Excel & Word).
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., including in awkward positions.
  • Ability to safely operate cranes, forklifts, and material-handling equipment.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required; must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must not hold dual citizenship and must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with laser tracking/scanning systems (FARO, Leica, Keyence).
  • Familiarity with PolyWorks Inspector / Modeler software.
  • Additional NDT experience and certifications.
  • Background in machining or finishing operations.
