A Global Food Manufacturing and CPG firm is looking for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead the quality & food safety functions across two key sites in the greater Pittsburgh, PA area.
The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee all Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions within FDA/USDA regulated facilities and ensure operations are in line with applicable regulations and industry standards. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and upholding operational KPIs, SOPs, and best practices that align with company and regulatory quality standards.
The ideal Quality Assurance Manager candidate will have the following skill set:
* 4+ years of Quality experience; 2+ years' progressive Leadership in a Food Manufacturing or CPG production environment- * Bachelor's Degree preferred
* Audit experience
* FDA, HACCP, USDA & Similar experience
* PCQI experience a plus
* Multi-site experience a plus, but not required
* Strong knowledge of ISO, GMP, HACCP food safety and other industry standards
* Superior analytical skills with an outstanding attention to detail
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Proven ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with local and international counterparts
The Quality Assurance Manager will have the following responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and uphold strategic processes to create an autonomous Quality organization to run on a 24/7 schedule
* Maintain USDA relationship, communicate updates, and facilitate audits as necessary
* Rectify customer complaints & quality issues as necessary and conduct root-cause analysis to determine causes and correct as necessary
* Review documentation to ensure compliance
* Ensure GMP, ISO, Quality, and Food Safety standards are upheld
* Provide QA/QC Support across all areas of the plant as necessary
* Resolve customer delivery discrepancies and amend production schedule priorities accordingly
* Develop, implement, and uphold strategic initiatives to ensure long-term goals are met
* Provide both short- and long-term Quality plans to appropriate parties to be used for capacity analysis
* Take a proactive approach to managing and reporting safety and quality standards in the plant
* Maintain a comprehensive quality system and strategy related to the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials in compliance with regulatory standards
* Validate quality measurement accuracy to create recurring results
* Establish, implement, and uphold department-wide SOPs & KPIs to foster a superior quality continuous improvement mentality
* Design, develop, and execute quality and safety instructions across the plant
* Prepare SOPs for the department to guarantee compliance with industry regulations and standards
