Quality Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and control within our client's aerospace and defense manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.), customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines while driving continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards.
- Lead internal and external audits, including customer, regulatory, and third-party audits.
- Manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians; provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
- Oversee non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to ensure product quality from design through delivery.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics (e.g., yield, defect rates, customer returns, supplier performance).
- Ensure compliance with DoD, FAA, and ITAR regulations and customer-specific requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality tools.
- Manage documentation, including quality plans, inspection reports, and process validations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in quality management within aerospace and/or defense manufacturing.
- In-depth knowledge of AS9100, ISO 9001, ITAR, and NADCAP standards.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, SPC, FMEA, PPAP, APQP, and other quality tools.
- Certified Lead Auditor (AS9100 or ISO 9001) preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Proficiency in quality software tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
